Our Story
Rooted in faith, driven by love, committed to transforming communities across Zimbabwe.
The Image That Changed Everything
Crumbling mud-brick walls, grass-thatched roofs, and hundreds of hand-made bricks drying in the dusty courtyard under the Zimbabwe flag. This is where the Zimbocare Trust story begins.
The Beginning
Once in a while we come across situations that have the potential of changing your worldview. For Terence Kandima and friends, it took an image of a pole-and-daga school shared on a social media group.
That image had the net effect of springing 10 men into action β all with the intention of changing the narrative of a school and giving it a fresh new look. They searched for the school in the photo but couldn't locate it, so they resolved to find one of their own.
In 2016, they stumbled upon Tsenga Primary School in Mt Darwin, Mashonaland Central Province. They met the community leaders and introduced themselves β not as donors, but as partners. That distinction changed everything.
Although Covid-19 broke the original group due to depleted incomes, Zimbocare Trust was formally registered, and Terence Kandima β as sole remaining trustee β carried the work forward with unwavering dedication.
A group of 10 friends, inspired by a photo, discovers Tsenga Primary School and forms a partnership with the community.
Construction of the first solar-powered classroom block, computer lab, and conversion of the manual borehole to solar.
Formally registered as Zimbocare Trust. Despite Covid-19 challenges, work continues under Terence Kandima.
Second classroom block built. Plans to expand the Tsenga model to schools across the whole country.
What Drives Us
